Effective Date: August 20, 2026 MarginScout is a Chrome browser extension designed to help ecommerce sellers analyze product profitability while browsing supported marketplace product pages. Information MarginScout Processes MarginScout may access and process limited information displayed on supported ecommerce product pages, such as product titles, product identifiers, displayed prices, and other product-related information necessary to provide profitability calculations. Users may also manually enter information such as product costs, shipping costs, platform fees, advertising costs, taxes, fulfillment costs, and other business-related calculation parameters. How Information Is Used Information accessed by MarginScout is used solely to provide the extension’s core functionality, including product profitability calculations, margin analysis, ROI calculations, break-even analysis, cost analysis, and currency conversion. MarginScout does not use this information for advertising, creditworthiness assessment, lending purposes, or purposes unrelated to the extension’s core functionality. Local Storage MarginScout uses browser local storage to save certain user preferences, settings, manually entered calculation data, language preferences, currency selections, and related information so that users can continue using the extension conveniently between browsing sessions. Marketplace Page Access MarginScout requests access to supported ecommerce marketplace websites, including Amazon, 1688, and Temu, for the purpose of identifying relevant product information from product pages. Access to website content is used only when necessary to provide MarginScout’s product profitability analysis features. Currency Exchange Rate Data MarginScout may connect to external exchange-rate data sources to obtain reference foreign exchange rates used for currency conversion. Requests for exchange-rate information are used to provide currency conversion functionality and are not used to sell or profile user data. Data Sharing and Sale MarginScout does not sell user data. MarginScout does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, creditworthiness assessment, or purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose. Accounts and Payments The current version of MarginScout does not require users to create an account and does not process payments or payment card information. Remote Code MarginScout does not execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly code. External services may provide data, such as exchange-rate information, but not executable extension code. Data Security MarginScout is designed with a local-first approach and limits access to information reasonably necessary to provide its functionality.
